From Home Alone‘s home invasion, to literally killing Santa Claus in The Santa Clause, we have a morbid fascination with horrible things happening on the happiest day of the year. Turns out, the universe wanted in on that.

Santa’s Wonderland Express
This all starts with a train, specifically, Santa’s Wonderland Express. This is a Holiday-themed train that runs from Arcade to the “North Pole” (Currier’s Station). Along the way, guests can fill out a wish list for Santa, and prepare themselves to meet the big jolly elf.
Once you arrive at the North pole, Santa will be waiting for you along with various other activities like face-painting, family photos, and more. Unfortunately for one group of travelers, they got more than they bargained for.
Car Crash on the Way to the North Pole
On the night of December 11th, the Wonderland Train was making its rounds across New York when it was struck by a car crossing Chaffee Road. The crash was, obviously, not on purpose. The railroad engineer stated it was likely due to icy conditions on the road, not giving the driver enough time to slow down…
