Suspect charged in killing of 86-year-old Port Clinton man dies

PORT CLINTON, Ohio — A Toledo man accused of killing an 86-year-old Port Clinton man in July died last week of natural causes, according to court records.

Shawn Gooden, 52, died on Dec. 11. He was facing charges of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, theft from a protected class, tampering with evidence and receiving stolen property in the death of Warren Taylor, who was found dead in a Port Clinton home on July 19.

Iesha Goodell, 34, of Toledo, was also arrested in connection with the homicide. She withdrew her previous plea of not guilty in November and pleaded guilty to one count each of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 12…
