SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The United States Postal Service is experiencing its busiest week of the year as customers rush to mail holiday gifts and greeting cards before Christmas.
USPS representatives say customer traffic has been steadily increasing since the beginning of December, and this week is expected to be the busiest one yet as people race to get their presents through the mail and underneath the Christmas tree.
Holiday preparations underway since January
The postal service has been preparing for the holiday peak season, which is the time between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, since January of this year.
