CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Indian Creek Nature Center has been awarded a $25,000 grant from Athletic Brewing Co.’s Two for the Trails program to support the restoration and enhancement of the Lynch Wetland.
The 6.3-acre natural area, which features reconstructed tallgrass prairie, native woodland and paired wetlands, is a key site for STEM-based field trips and outdoor education programs.
Jean Wiedenheft, the nature center’s director of land stewardship, said, “This grant supports the restoration work necessary to make the wetland a healthy and vibrant ecosystem while also improving accessibility.”…
