Fort Bend ISD moves forward with boundary changes for elementary and middle schools

SUGAR LAND, Texas (CW39) – Fort Bend Independent School District leaders are set to explain the reasoning behind the proposed rezoning changes for elementary and middle school. The district is also considering possible school consolidations ahead of the 2025–26 school year.

The goal is to balance enrollment, find better use for existing school buildings, and prepare for growth ahead of the 2025–26 school year. Monday, leaders will break down the long-range planning efforts and explain the process and why rezoning the district is now being made.

According to the district, Fort Bend ISD’s Long-Range Boundary Planning process focuses on elementary schools, along with the opening of Amy Coleman Middle School. A part of the plan, the district said it is reviewing elementary school attendance boundary adjustment, possible elementary school consolidations, and the final attendance boundaries for Amy Coleman Middle School…
