Shreveport’s mayor believes it may be time to fold the city’s independent planning authority into a city-run department.
Spurred most recently by a decision to deny a permit for a controversial data center the mayor supports, Tom Arceneaux says he thinks now is the time to make the Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission an official city department. The mayor said the move would better align city planners with the city’s priorities.
