SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The 3rd Annual Cladius Washington, Jr. Christmas Toy Drive and Holiday party is happening Thursday, Dec. 18 at Bill Cockrell Park Recreation Center.
The Shreveport Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (SAC) and Rho Omega & Friends, Inc., will giveaway over 1000 toys to more than 300 children from underserved communities in Shreveport.
The giveaway was started by Candice Washington, a member of SAC and daughter of Cladius Washington, Jr.
As a part of the toy giveaway, SAC’s Social Action Committee spearheaded the 2025 Black Doll Initiative, where over 50 African American dolls were donated to the giveaway. The initiative is meant to foster positive self-image and confidence in young, Black children…
