Sherwood voters to decide on measures involving land annexations

Hoping to ensure the city has more control over land use decisions — and that residents have a say in future annexations — Sherwood is sending two ballot measures to voters on Jan. 13.

Those measures — 34-347 and 34-348 — would amend the city’s charter requiring that at least one public hearing be held any time a major new residential development is proposed and would confirm the city’s control in determining whether or not to approve new land brought into city limits.
