Wind advisory for Willamette Valley until Wednesday morning – wind gusts up to 55 mph

On Tuesday at 10:03 a.m. a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from 4 p.m. until Wednesday 6 a.m. for Clackamas County Cascade Foothills, Cascade Foothills of Marion and Linn counties and Lane County Cascade Foothills.

“Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected,” explains the weather service. “Winds are expected to be the strongest on exposed ridges or peaks. Isolated thunderstorms may also generate erratic strong wind gusts through tonight.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” adds the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects such as garbage cans and other objects that can easily blow around.”
