A Birmingham developer’s effort to demolish five historic buildings in Highland Park is on pause after neighborhood leaders learned of the plan.
“Someone said, ‘yeah, they’re moving everyone out so that they can demolish.’ And we were like, ‘Whoa, those are historic contributing structures,’” said Elizabeth Sanfelippo, head of the Highland Park Neighborhood Association.
