WPAFB buries time capsule for 2050

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (WDTN) – The 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base buried a time capsule that won’t be opened for 25 years on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The time capsule follows the opening of a capsule from 1999 earlier this year, continuing the tradition.

The base commander, Colonel Dustin Richards, included personal letters to future service members to provide insight into what life was like on the base in 2025.

“You wonder where the world will be in 2050,” said Richards. “Where will the relationships that we built, where will the things we’re focused on right now, where will those land? I can tell you one thing: the 88th Air Base Wing will still be here to provide strength through support to whatever Wright-Patterson looks like.”…
