Powerball ticket sold in Orange County wins $200,000 in Monday night drawing

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Powerball jackpot is now well over $1 billion and growing, but one central North Carolina ticket was able to snag a portion of Monday night’s jackpot.

According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, a ticket bought at the Food Lion located at 106 Rebecca Dr. in Hillsborough won $200,000 in Monday night’s Powerball drawing. It matched numbers on four of the five white balls drawn as well as the red Powerball, netting it an initial $50,000 win. But because the player had added Power Play to the ticket, the prize multiplied to $200,000…
