SUV catches fire after crashing into Ace Hardware store in Redwood City

(KRON) — An SUV crashed into the Ace Hardware store in Redwood City on Monday evening, according to the Redwood City Fire Department (RCFD). The department received a call around 5:13 p.m. about a vehicle that drove into a building.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and saw that the vehicle was on fire, RCFD Battalion Chief Glendon Chan said. The fire was extinguished within about 20 minutes. The vehicle that crashed into the store was a blue BMW X3 SUV.

The store was open at the time of the crash, according to Chan. There were customers and staff inside, but no one was hurt…
