LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The cold could be felt all through the Bluegrass on Sunday and Monday, with some communities seeing lows that dropped below zero.
On Monday, Dec. 15, the Lexington-Fayette County Homelessness Response System (LFCHRS) declared a “White Flag Day,” meaning temperatures below 32 degrees—considered extreme—were present.

Officials with the LFCHRS wrote that on a “White Flag Day,” the media is alerted, and emergency day centers and overnight shelters welcome all people, including those who were suspended for behavioral or non-violent program-related reasons.
