KENTUCKY — A man died Monday in Louisville after his rideshare vehicle slid backward down a snowy hill and rolled over him, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Incident Happened on Slippery Hill in Clifton Heights
Police say the fatal accident occurred in the Clifton Heights neighborhood as the rideshare driver attempted to drive up a snow-covered incline. When the vehicle struggled to gain traction, the passenger told the driver he would get out and walk the rest of the way.
According to investigators, the passenger stepped out and moved behind the vehicle. The driver reportedly did not see him there.
Vehicle Rolled Backward and Over the Passenger
Moments later, the rideshare began sliding backward on the icy hill, rolling over the passenger. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but the man died from his injuries at the scene.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim. Police say no signs of impairment were found, and the incident appears to be a tragic weather-related accident.
