Mobile mayor pushes back against county’s justification for steep rent increase

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis says there’s no resolution to the rental dispute the city of Mobile has with Mobile County. The city rents space at Government Plaza from the county for city offices and municipal court. The county’s increasing the city’s rent 90%. Cheriogotis says he’s reviewed the cost analysis provided by the county that shows operating costs for the building have increased, including a 437% increase in insurance.
