More than 200 elementary students receive bikes through the Bike for Kids Foundation

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — On Monday, more than 200 third-grade students in New Hanover County received brand-new bicycles as part of the Bikes for Kids Foundation.

Students from Freeman, Alderman, Forest Hills, and Snipes Elementary Schools received the bikes at a special assembly at New Hanover County High School.

A spokesperson from the school district says that several high school students shared personal reflections on the meaning of hard-work and perseverance serving as role models. The students represented a range of pathways including college, technical school, trade school, police academy, fire service, military service, and apprenticeship programs…
