SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — One of two elevators at the Jenny Lind Apartments in Springfield may soon be open after being down for two years.
Martin Gugel, director of Building Development Services, tells Ozarks First that the first elevator is working, but has not been released to the owner by the contractor, due to waiting on final payment.
“That payment was delayed due to the recent government shutdown, which caused a delay in required HUD approvals,” Gugel said. “We have confirmed with Millennia and HUD that funding should be available next week, and final payment will be made.”…
