ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A federal jury has convicted a man for his role in the kidnapping of his former boss. Jose Ramirez was found guilty of kidnapping and carjacking. In 2018, Ramirez kidnapped his old boss, who had fired him for theft. Ramirez held the victim in a shed for hours while demanding nearly $10,000 from the family, wired to a bank account in Mexico, but it didn’t happen. The victim was dropped off near Rio Bravo Boulevard and Second Street and walked to a gas station for help.

The conviction comes after Ramirez was on the run for seven years before being arrested in California. He faces up to life in prison.
