When Accelerations Learning Center first opened its doors in Honolulu in 2001, the idea was simple but ambitious: help students not just keep up in school, but move confidently ahead of it. More than two decades later, that philosophy still guides everything the team does—whether they’re working with an elementary school student struggling in math, a high schooler preparing for the SAT, or an adult learner studying for the GED or ASVAB.
Founded by Cassandra Tokars (known as Mrs.T to the families) Accelerations was built on the belief that academic success isn’t one-size-fits-all. The name itself reflects that mission—accelerating students forward by meeting them exactly where they are.
