Disturbing Find in Stewart’s Bathroom
Before the coffee was ready, a disturbing discovery brought the morning routine to a halt at a popular Stewart’s Shop in the Capital Region.
The Town of North Greenbush Police Department says that around 5 am Wednesday, North Greenbush Police responded to the Stewart’s Shop at 50 North Greenbush Road, near Hudson Valley Community College, alongside the Defreestville Fire Department and North Greenbush Ambulance, following a report of a cardiac arrest.
65-Year-Old Man Deceased
When officers arrived, they found a 65-year-old man inside the store’s bathroom, and police say it was immediately apparent that resuscitation efforts would be unsuccessful.
Investigators say they reviewed surveillance footage showing the man entering the bathroom at approximately 7 pm on Tuesday and sadly, never exited.
No Evidence of Foul Play
The Rensselaer County Medical Legal Death Investigator’s Office responded to the scene and is coordinating efforts to determine an official cause of death. Authorities emphasized that there is no evidence of foul play, and the incident is believed to be the result of a medical event.

Keevern. “I defer to Stewart’s Shops corporate headquarters on that matter, as it does not directly relate to the cause of death, which remains our primary concern.”…
