Firefighters about 25 miles west of downtown Columbus carried out an ice rescue after a dog became stranded on a frozen pond.
According to the London Fire Department, crews were dispatched after a report came in about a dog that had wandered onto the ice and was unable to make it back to land. Once on scene, firefighters assessed the conditions before carefully reaching the animal.
Photos shared by the department show a dog with light-colored fur – appearing to be a retriever or retriever mix – on the ice as firefighters approached. The dog was brought safely back to land.
