Man accused of kidnapping, beating woman overnight in east Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Columbus man was in court Wednesday after being accused of abusing a woman over a nine-hour period in east Columbus.

According to a Columbus police incident report, officers were called to an outpatient care center on Leonard Avenue after receiving calls from a domestic violence incident. Officers spoke with the victim, who said that 41-year-old Terron Tolber assaulted her a number of ways the night of Dec. 15 and into the following morning.

The victim told police that at approximately 7 p.m. Monday, the two began arguing and Tolber began assaulting her in a Mt. Vernon residence, east of Downtown, Columbus.

The victim reported that Tolber used several methods of abuse, including strangling, beating her with a hammer on multiple occasions, and holding a knife to her neck while threatening to “kill her, put her in the trunk of the car, and bury her.”…
