PHOTOS: Car hit by train near Hall of Fame Drive in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A car and train collided on Gill Avenue off of Hall of Fame Drive, resulting in minor injuries Wednesday morning, the Knoxville Fire Department said.

The Knoxville Police Department said the driver was attempting to cross the tracks in front of the oncoming train when the car was struck by a train. A crew from 6 News at the scene saw a black Nissan that had been clipped, damaging it on the front.

KPD said there were two people inside the car, and there were only minor injuries.
