MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Klig’s Kites is closing its Broadway at the Beach location after three decades, citing several factors leading to the decision.
The kite store was among the first businesses to sign a lease at Broadway at the Beach 30 years ago, but owner Richard Kligman said the location has become too expensive to maintain.
“There’s commentary and maintenance, there’s advertising fees, there are fees for everything, including breathing to be out here,” Kligman said. “This store by itself was as expensive to run than our other two stores put together.”…
