Central NY woman who drove drunk and caused friend’s death apologizes: ‘I wish I could go back and change everything’

Syracuse, N.Y. — A woman who admitted to driving drunk in a crash that killed her friend apologized in court Monday and said she does not go a day without thinking about her actions.

Kaitlyn Kudla, 22, was sentenced to five to 15 years in state prison after previously pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of 25 years.

The sentencing followed emotional, sometimes tearful, statements from the victim’s parents, the surviving passenger and Kudla herself…
