Sidney Barthelemy II, a builder and the son of former New Orleans Mayor Sidney Barthelemy, will run for a vacant Louisiana Senate district.
Barthelemy announced Wednesday he will compete for state Senate District 3, one of three vacant Senate seats in the Senate. He plans to officially qualify Wednesday.
The seat represents portions of Gentilly, New Orleans East, and riverfront neighborhoods from Marigny to Holy Cross, the Lower 9th Ward and St. Bernard Parish.
