(COLORADO SPRINGS) — For the final Richard’s Rubbish Roundup for 2025, the group headed to America the Beautiful park to keep the park’s namesake true.
Richard’s Rubbish Roundup was founded in 2023 by local businessman and philanthropist Richard Skorman, with the goal of cleaning up Monument Valley Park; later, other parts of Colorado Springs were added.
Taking advantage of the warm weather, volunteers gathered at America the Beautiful to help keep it clean. Volunteers said it is an important place to keep clean because of how close it is to Fountain Creek, which runs all the way down to Pueblo.
“This place is always a mess, so it’s always a really good place for us to pick up. We usually end up with about 50-55 bags after an hour and a half pickup,” said Sonya Walker, Director of Richard’s Rubbish Roundup…
