SPOKANE, Wash. — A 40-year-old Spokane County man was sentenced to five years in prison for running over his girlfriend’s foot with her own vehicle during a domestic dispute, according to the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Burke Simonson received the 60-month sentence Dec. 12 in Spokane Superior Court after a jury found him guilty of third-degree domestic violence assault in October, prosecutors said.
The assault occurred in July 2025 at the victim’s Veradale home during an argument about Simonson’s use of her car, according to court documents and trial testimony. The victim positioned herself in front of the moving vehicle to prevent Simonson from taking it against her wishes, prosecutors said…
