Police remain on site after bomb threats at Columbia high schools

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Columbia Police Department officers are monitoring Eau Claire High School and Dreher High School on Monday morning as a precaution after the schools received bomb threats believed to be hoaxes.

Police said the additional officers are on campus in addition to the School Resource Officers. Students, faculty, and staff at both schools are safe, officials said.

Columbia police are working with Richland School District One on public safety efforts as the investigation continues.
