KENT COUNTY, MI – A fire chief grew suspicious during a call in 2023, speaking with a mother who contacted authorities to report her child was having trouble breathing.
The chief’s interaction with Irene Aiyana Whitehead in 2023 came about 18 months after his department first responded to the woman’s home regarding an infant death in 2021.
