MNPD: 2019 homicide suspect arrested for another shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man who had been on the run after a deadly shooting in Nashville for six years has been arrested in connection with another shooting.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 28-year-old James C. Jones was indicted for the February 2019 deadly shooting of 23-year-old Dashawn Elliott, who was killed during a game of dice in an apartment on 9th Avenue North.

Jones had been on the run for six years when he was arrested for another shooting that occurred on Saturday, Dec. 13, on West Trinity Lane where a man suffered a non-critical injury, authorities said.
