STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City officials issued 150 summonses across Staten Island for sidewalk snow shoveling failures after Sunday’s storm.
Joshua Goodman, the deputy commissioner for public affairs and customer experience at the Department of Sanitation, said those Staten Island fines were among about 4,000 issued citywide since 4:30 p.m. Sunday.“
“It’s easy to focus on the property owner getting the summons — but remember, there are 8.5 million people in the city who want to be able to walk to work or school safely,” he said. “Every single one of us deserve to be able to do so, and clearing snow and ice from sidewalks is one of the responsibilities of anyone who owns property in New York City.”…
