My son attends The Leah Chase School. The Orleans Parish School Board wants to close our school for dubious reasons. Worse, they tried to do this without input from the families of the 340 students whose lives will be upended.
But we caught wind of the plan, and now we’re fighting back. Still, the school board is rushing to hold a vote on just one week’s notice, right before the holidays, as ICE is invading our city. As I will explain, TLC is being held to a higher standard than any other school in the city.
Any school board member who goes along with this plan would be committing a legacy-defining error…
