Teen Critically Injured in West Side San Antonio Apartment Shooting

A quiet Monday afternoon on San Antonio’s West Side turned chaotic when a teenager reportedly shot himself inside an apartment bedroom, according to police. The call came in around 1:45 p.m., and first responders arrived to find a boy in his late teens with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition while homicide detectives moved in to lock down the scene and start sorting out what happened inside the unit.

As reported by WOAI, officers were called to an apartment complex near the corner of West Sunshine Drive and Bloomfield Drive. First responders found the teen in a bedroom, and medics transported him to a hospital in critical condition. According to the outlet, homicide investigators were “going over the scene to verify exactly what went wrong” as detectives tried to piece together how the reported accidental shooting occurred.
