BLUFFDALE, Utah (ABC4) — A Utah woman is using her own experience and warming technology to help save people experiencing homelessness during the cold.
The Turtle Shelter Project makes foam insulated vests providing warmth and love for people in need of both. Jen Spencer has been working on making these special vests since 2017, and she came to this with her own experience. Jen said, “I used to be homeless and addicted to crystal meth, and I was homeless off and on for several years.”
It was the cold of one Utah winter that helped Jen turn her life around. She said, “This brutal winter brought me to my knees and made me realize I couldn’t live this way anymore.”…
