SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Utah man arrested by ICE during his final green card interview has been released from detention and has returned to his family in Utah.
Jair Celis was on the final step of the green card process when he was arrested by ICE and sent to a detainment center in Arizona. He was granted a bond on Monday, Dec. 15, and now his attorney confirmed to ABC4 that he was released on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and returned to Utah on Wednesday.

Andy Armstrong, an immigration attorney at the Law Firm of Stowell & Crayk in Salt Lake City, said, “We have a bunch of stuff to do to get us right back to [U.S. Customs and Immigration Services] for his green card interview, hopefully within a few weeks.”
