SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Oldham-Ramona-Rutland School District is here to stay after a vote to reorganize and eventually dissolve the district failed by four votes.
The district needed to count five provisional ballots on Wednesday after Tuesday’s vote. During a ORR School Board meeting to canvas the votes, the provisional votes were 4 against redistricting and 1 for it did not count because it was not filled out properly, officials said.
Before Wednesday’s count and canvas the Tuesday ballot voting ended in a 363 tie. The four votes against the ballot measure means the school district will continue. The final vote was 367 to 363.
