Sioux Falls reveals 30-year plan to expand Falls Park

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The 30-year plan for Falls Park, which includes more green space, a land bridge and park expansion, was recently introduced to the city council.

In a Sioux Falls City Council informational meeting Tuesday, parks and recreation staff and architectural designers presented the Falls Park Master Plan, which envisions what the park could look like over the next 30 years.

Jon Jacobson, principal designer for the landscape architectural firm Confluence said the vision for the park is to have more green space, improved traffic circulation, expanded recreational areas, an adventure course, year-round programming and to preserve historical elements of the park…
