Tucson to allow duplexes, triplexes, townhouses in most city neighborhoods

Neighborhoods across Tucson could become denser and more populated in the future after the Tucson City Council voted on Tuesday to allow “middle housing” in most of the city’s residential areas.

The middle housing amendment to the city’s building code allows duplexes, triplexes, four-plexes, townhouses and cottage courts to be built in all residential areas citywide, with the exception of areas zoned “rural residential.”…
