Chantilly man faces minimum of 15 years after exploiting young teenage girls

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A Chantilly man faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison after sexually exploiting and enticing young teenage girls beginning in 2022.

Michael Bourne exploited multiple girls between Feb. 9, 2022, and April 18, 2023, according to evidence presented at court. This included four girls between 13 and 17 years old and two additional girls, that remained unidentified, but claimed to be 14 and 16 years old online.

While engaging in graphic sexual chats, Bourne enticed the victims to participate in sexual activity during live video calls. He also sent sexually explicit images and videos of himself to his victims and received child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from a 13-year-old victim.

“Michael Bourne knowingly targeted children, exploiting their vulnerability for his own gratification,” said Lindsey Halligan, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. “Crimes like these inflict lasting harm, and this office is unwavering in its commitment to bringing child predators to justice. We will always prioritize cases involving the abuse of minors and pursue offenders like Bourne with the full force of federal law.”…
