WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — A Westerville police officer is recovering after being injured during a training exercise on Wednesday.
According to Westerville police, the officer was injured during a break at a Delaware Tactical Unit training session at the Defense Supply Center in Whitehall.

Police said another trainee’s gun accidentally fired, hitting the Westerville officer in the hand and leg. The officer remains in a local hospital for treatment.
