A man in his 30s accused of attempting a carjacking Tuesday morning ended up hospitalized with serious injuries after being beaten by the intended victim in Detroit.
Police say the incident began when the suspect stole an unoccupied vehicle that had been left running to warm up. About an hour later, the stolen vehicle was flipped in a crash near the Meyers and Lodge Freeway area. The suspect then ran from the crash scene, investigators say.
