RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A wrong-way crash involving multiple vehicles on U.S. 421 in Randolph County left one person dead and another seriously injured Tuesday afternoon, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said they were called to the scene around 4:59 p.m. on U.S. 421 south near N.C. 49 after receiving reports of a wrong-way driver.
Investigators said a 2003 Dodge Ram, driven by 53-year-old Dean Andrew Nance of Franklinville, was traveling north in the southbound lanes of U.S. 421 when it collided head-on with a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 23-year-old Seth Andrew Laws of Siler City…
