KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A West Knoxville couple was forced to jump from their third-floor apartment window to escape a fire at the Collective at Sutherland apartments on Sunday.
Darren and Melissa Brewster said they smelled fire in their apartment and had only seconds to react as thick, black smoke filled their home.
“It was seconds. It was absolute seconds,” Melissa Brewster said. “You have no idea how thick and black that smoke is until you actually see it.”…
