Knoxville Police Department Names Donna Trogdon as First Curriculum Administrator to Enhance Officer Training

In an effort to bolster the quality and effectiveness of police training, the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) has appointed Donna Trogdon, a seasoned educator in criminal justice, as its first-ever Curriculum Administrator. Trogdon’s appointment was confirmed in an announcement detailing her role and background.

Trogdon, who is currently a Criminal Justice professor at Pellissippi State Community College, will take on responsibilities that include revising and evaluating course curriculums for police recruits and ongoing professional development for active officers. She is expected to start her position on January 5, 2026, an event which follows the inclusion of funding for this new role in Mayor Kincannon’s 2025-26 budget, as reported by the Knoxville PD’s official release.
