APOPKA, Fla. – An 18-year-old man is accused of carjacking a driver in Apopka before trying to take a gun from one of the arresting officers, according to police.
Alexander Garraud faces charges of carjacking, attempted unlawful possession of a law-enforcement firearm, battery on a law-enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and resisting an officer without violence, the Apopka Police Department said in a news release.
Officers were called around 9 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Old Dixie Highway and Citrus Avenue, where a victim reported they had stopped at a stop sign when a man later identified as Garraud approached their vehicle while waving his arms and yelling for help, according to the release…
