Gadsden County leaders, residents discuss funding priorities for next legislative session

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – In a nearly three-hour legislative delegation meeting on Wednesday, state lawmakers heard from Gadsden County residents and local elected officials on what projects they need help funding.

About $750,000 was requested for improvements to the emergency command center in Chattahoochee, and approximately $4 million was asked for regarding a multipurpose agriculture center.

They also requested money for water and sewer projects in different municipalities and about $13 million for better lighting throughout the county. Commissioner Alonzetta Simpkins referenced several hit-and-runs in the county that may have been avoided with better lighting…
