A year after relighting, National Grid plans more renovations to Downtown Syracuse landmark headquarters

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Ahead of the building’s 100th anniversary, the energy company National Grid has announced plans to restore the outside of its historic headquarters in Downtown Syracuse.

The iconic Art Deco building on Erie Boulevard West is known for its colorful lighting that celebrates holidays and community events.

The company wouldn’t specify the exact cost of the renovations, but said it has calculated it as a few million dollars. This comes after the state government approved rate hikes to customers’ bills in August, with the average customer facing a rise by $22 per month…
