Well, it’s been a long road to find the next Amarillo Chief of Police, but the search has officially come to an end. Back in late November, we were introduced to the three finalists for the position, and we had a feeling the decision would come before the end of the year.
Thomas Hover, interim Chief Jimmy Johnson, and Greg Stevens were the three finalists who were announced, all of them very decorated, with each one having at least two decades of service. One of those three will indeed be the next Chief of Police in Amarillo.
Welcome, Chief Thomas Hover
The search committee ultimately landed on Thomas Hover and extended him an offer to become the next Chief of Police in Amarillo, and he gladly accepted the offer.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to have been selected as the next Police Chief for the City of Amarillo,” Hover said, and continued, “I am grateful to the city leadership for their confidence and trust, and I look forward to serving the Amarillo community.”…
